This isn't therapy, and it's not a substitute for your own support system. It's a space to look honestly at why you're called to this work, what it's costing you, and how to keep doing it without disappearing inside it. Created and led by Domino Kirke, who has spent nearly twenty years as a birth worker, educator, and caregiver herself.
The part nobody tells you about care work.
You've probably always been the one people call.
Maybe it started young — you were the kid who noticed when someone was struggling, the one who knew how to make things okay again.
Maybe it was your own birth, or your own hard year, that first showed you what real care looks like — and made you want to give it to someone else.
Maybe someone just said, "you'd be so good at this," and some part of you already knew they were right.
Whatever it was — something in you answered the call.
And then you started doing the work. And it started asking more of you than you expected.
You give, and give, and give — and somewhere in there, you stop asking what it's costing you.
The exhaustion starts to feel normal. The blurred boundaries start to feel like part of the job. You wonder if the burnout everyone talks about is just... inevitable.
That's why Domino built The Space + Time Mentorship.
This isn't a training. It's not another certification.
It's the unlearning — the part of care work no one teaches you, because everyone's too busy teaching you the how to ever get to the why, and the at what cost.
So instead of absorbing everything and everyone around you...you know how to hold your own energy.
Instead of guessing where your boundaries should be...you know how to set them and keep them.
Instead of wondering if burnout is just the price of this work...you have a way through it that doesn't require leaving the work altogether.
The four shifts you'll make inside
The Space + Time Mentorship
Unpack the Past
Your own birth story, childhood, or adolescence — beautiful or traumatic — is probably part of why you're standing here. We'll unpack how the way you arrived at care work shapes the way you practice it now.
Community First
Care work is community work. It's also, as we'll explore, work rooted in reminding the people you serve that they have a community to lean on. You'll learn how to braid those worlds together — theirs and yours.
Protect Yourself
Burnout in this field isn't a personal failing, it's a near-certainty of the demands the work makes on you physically, mentally, and emotionally — right up through depression, dread, even dissociation. We'll teach you, whether you're brand new or twenty years in, how to do this work without losing yourself in it.
Energy Work
Birth work — and caregiving broadly — is energy work, whether anyone calls it that or not. That exchange demands real self-reflection if you want to keep showing up fully present. We'll walk you through that inventory: a proverbial cleaning of your own mirror.
This is for you if...
You identify as a caregiver — doula, birth worker, or otherwise — and you're not totally sure when that identity started.
You've been doing this work for twenty years, or you were certified last month, and either way you're craving something deeper than technique.
You want to understand why you were called to care for others, not just get better at doing it.
You're tired of boundaries feeling like a threat to how good you are at your job.
You've felt the early signs of burnout and want a way through it that doesn't mean quitting the work you love.
You want to connect with your calling as your whole self — not just the version of you that shows up for everyone else.

Frequently Asked Questions 🔶 (drafted from context — confirm real answers with Domino before publishing)
Do I need to already be a working doula or birth worker? 🔶 No — this is designed for anyone who identifies as a caregiver, whether you're newly trained, twenty years in, or exploring whether care work is even right for you.
I've been doing this work for decades. Is this still for me? 🔶 Especially you. Many mentees arrive after years in the field — the missing piece usually isn't more clinical skill, it's this kind of unlearning.
What if I'm not sure care work is right for me at all? This mentorship is designed to help you decide exactly that — to un-blur your motivations and understand what this work asks of you before you commit further.
Is this therapy? No. It's mentorship and community, not a substitute for your own therapeutic or medical support.
What's the refund policy? 🔶 Needs Domino's actual policy — don't publish a guess here.

Structure
We meet on Tuesdays (starting 10/6/26) for two weeks of curriculum, followed by one week of reflection — repeated three times across the 9-week mentorship.
During reflection weeks, we center your expansion: revelations you're having, questions that have bubbled up, anything you want to digest as a group.
Outside of our recorded Zoom gatherings, you'll stay connected with mentees and mentors in a private WhatsApp group.
Format
Our format follows the cycle of labor itself: between contractions, there is expansion. That's where the most essential work happens. We build in real moments of pause — for rest, reflection, and integration — throughout the mentorship.
Mentors
You'll learn from a diverse group of mentors Domino consults with weekly. This ever-evolving team of experts in birth work and adjacent fields brings their own stories, missteps, and lessons into the core curriculum — expect a range of voices, not just one.
Investment
$1800 for the full nine-week mentorship. Early enrollment: $1000, through September 10. Two and three-part payment plans available. Discount available for Carriage House Birth alumni.

What to expect
Unpack the Past
Your own beautiful or, alternately, traumatic birth/childhood or adolescent experience may be what nudged you towards care work and we’ll unpack how the way you arrived here can inform your approach.
Community First
Care work is community work and it’s also, as we’ll explore, work that is rooted in reminding clients that they do indeed have a community that they can lean on; you’ll learn how to braid those worlds together for the people you serve.
Protect Yourself
Burnout rate with this kind of work, which demands so much of you physically, mentally and emotionally, is often an inevitability, leading to depression, dread, even dissociation. We’ll teach both longtime and newly certified birth workers how to do this work without losing yourself.
Energy Work
Birth work is energy work. And this type of energetic exchange demands deeper personal reflection to be able to be fully present in this role. We’ll show you how to do the self investigation required—a proverbial cleaning of your mirror—so you can show up for the families you serve
